I am a fully qualified Primary teacher with almost 14 years experience.
I am a positive, trustworthy and reliable individual. I have high expectations and believe anyone can achieve with the right support. My career aspirations are to be a Head Teacher or School Improvement Lead.
I am passionate about reading and can always be caught with a new book in my hands. I am a science ‘geek’ who loves to learn more - particularly about space. Maths is my favourite subject to teach.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching for almost 14 years. Currently, I am part of the Senior Leadership team and a Key Stage Leader of a large school. I have worked across the primary range including all statutory assessment year groups. I am a qualified Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator and Mathematics subject Lead. I have recently completed training to become a Maths Mastery Specialist and work for the local Maths Hubs training local teachers on the best approaches for teaching Maths. I am also a trained NCTEM nationally accredited School Development Lead for Maths. My teaching experience has allowed me to work with children of all ages from 3-11 - I was a Y6 teacher for many years. I am currently based in KS1 but part of my role involoves me working across the primary range. I have also taught in both Finland and China.

Tutoring Approach

I value nothing more than individualising children’s learning. I feel children learn best when they are enjoying their subjects. I think learning should excite children to want to know more. I like to tutor using a range of learning resources from real world experiences to online tools. Tutoring should build on the best the children have to offer as well as closing the gaps in areas they need developing. Maths is my favourite subject to teach - using a concrete, pictorial, abstract approach and taking small steps to ensure children make connections to their previous understanding. I am currently delivering online lessons and in person (only within my local area).
