I am looking to teach Government and Politics at GCSE. and look forward to help students improve their knowledge of this subject.I have enjoyed Politics, reading watching and studying it from a young age. I am prepared to teach any syllabus.
I enjoy watching and keeping an eye on current politics. I often watch BBC Parliament. Whilst at college, I did a course called Public Administration where we discussed the general structure of how the English parliamentary system works and how laws are passed in parliament, we also discussed how the various institutions of how government work, and how citizens can elect politicians.
I have an interest in Politics from a young age. I I belong to an organisation called Philosophy in Pubs. Through this group, I have often presented topics some that are political I once presented a topic about the rise of popularity of engagement with political figures, for example the rise of Jeremy Corbyn.
I also belong to a group called New Europeans UK where we discussed issues through the prism of young people's rights based around people who are 18-30 years .We would engage in debate about politics from a European level. For example one of the issues talked about was about voting rights of the youth in the EU for example whether people aged 16 or 17 should vote in the European elections.
We also discussed how we make the EU into a more diverse group. Presentations were also conducted about how to make the European Union better and more accessible for other groups.
I feel that in order to tutor students you need to be prepared to tailor your approach to the needs of the student and be able to adapt to each particular students needs. Foe example, one student may respond better to doing past papers and going over a exam question, whereas another student may be more receptive to doing a mind map and going over theories which they may need for a particular question or essay. I think as a tutor, it is particularly important to be mindful of the students learning style and what will benefit them the most and will help them progress.
