I am a happily married famiy man with three grown up children. I enjoy cycling and mountain walkng, especially in Wales. My family tell me that I'm a pretty good cook! Although not in my first flush of youth I have a wealth of experience that will enable me to help you improve and achieve your goals.
My career began in 1974 as a maths and science teacher. I was promoted to Head of Science a few years later when I improved the GCSE Science results to the best in the history of the school. I moved to Essex in 1990 when I was promoted to the Senior Management of St. Thomas More School in Westcliff-on-Sea. I left there in 2010 to work full-time for Southend Unitory Authority as a home tutor for students of all abilities who were too ill to attend mainstream school. This was a very rewarding job and all of my students made excellent progress and achieved good GCSE results.
I begin with a diagnosis of your current grade/level. Knowing this and your target I put in place an agreed programme of study to cover the topics that you need to work on. I set homework and make regular assessments so that you can see your progress. I provide lots of exam question practice.
