Hello, call me Mike
I am passionate about Math, Performing Arts, and logic problems.

I've been working as a teacher and artist for over 20 years, originally from the North East of England, and my work has taken me to the Far East, Middle East and across Europe.

I studied Math, Physics and Psychology before I graduated with a BA (hons) in performing arts from LIPA and began life as a professional performer / creator. As a result I am good with people, quickly understanding their needs and finding the most efficient way to achieve their relevant goals.

I am a high achieving, outgoing, confident and disciplined person and hope to instill these qualities in my students. I enjoy seeing students expand their knowledge and understanding, and as a side effect watch them grow into confident and high achieving individuals.

Tutoring Experience

For over 20 years I have worked with teaching institutions, home school groups and individuals, professional theatre companies, and local education authorities.
My experience is broad, and i take great pride in seeing students succeed.
I have worked 1-1 in math (KS3 and KS4), drama, creative writing and confidence building. I believe this gives me a unique approach to teaching academic subjects such as math, as i am able to bring a human element to what may be considered an impersonal subject.

Tutoring Approach

I believe in a personal approach, i want to get to know a student in order to help them learn, and to focus on their individual needs. Everyone thinks in a different way, and i am keen to find the most efficient way to super power an individuals learning. My hope is to not only help in a specific topic but also help unlock their wider potential.

I believe it is important to first; find where a student's knowledge and learning is at, find any holes and then fix them. Once we have a strong foundation of understanding we can build and excel. We will explore relevant topics, I will always present several ways to move forward, and aid in the understanding of a problem as well as putting solutions into practice.
I always looking for what serves the students progress best.

My primary aim is to raise knowledge and understanding, to help my students surpass expectation. I am passionate about what i teach and I want to pass this passion onto my students.
