I am a fully qualified Science teacher with over 15 years of experience working in schools, both in the UK and abroad. I am currently teaching GCSE and A Level Chemistry in one of the highest performing state schools in the country.
I have taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics to GCSE level and specialise in Chemistry for A Level and the IB Diploma Programme. For the last 6 years I have been an Examiner for the IB Diploma Programme and an IB Extended Essay Supervisor.
I have taught hundreds of students across a range of abilities and from diverse backgrounds. I believe I have the skills to help and guide any student, regardless of their challenges to learning, whilst also imparting my enthusiasm for the Sciences.
In addition to being a classroom teacher, I have worked consistently as a private tutor since embarking on my undergraduate degree at Cambridge University in 1999. I was also the founder and director of a thriving tuition business in Hong Kong for a number of years.
I always prefer to initially discuss, in depth, the individual’s needs and expectations. This may involve further explanation of current school/college work. Or, it could be targeted revision for an upcoming exam, enabling students to achieve their potential through different revision strategies and honing their examination technique. Once our aims have been ascertained, we can plan a tailored route to success.
