I am a university graduate with a First class with Honours in Applied Medical Science. I am currently going on to study postgraduate Performing Arts Medicine. I have enjoyed working in tutoring for five years in physics, chemistry, biology and maths.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught maths and science at a variety of levels from Key Stage 2 to A levels. I have helped a total of 20 students during my time as a tutor and have been recommended by parents of my students and by companies I have worked for. Before moving to London I worked for a company called Elevate Eleven Tutoring, helping prepare students for entrance examinations into top secondary schools and have worked for a company utilising Skype tutoring to help foreign students prepare for entrance examinations into British schools at different levels. I am pleased to say all of my students were accepted into the schools they applied for and I saw one year 8 boy increase his maths score by from 49% to 69% in the few months of tutoring we had.

Tutoring Approach

I am an approachable and kind person, creating an environment in lessons where the student can feel comfortable giving things a go and asking questions. Everyone is different and for that reason I like to be creative with my teaching and make sure that a student really understands something before I move on because often if the basic building blocks are missing they struggle later on. With my older students I like to give them more autonomy over their learning and we come up with a learning plan together. I often encourage these older students to think like they're the teacher and get them to explain concepts back to me in their own fun and unique way. Overall I like to make lessons a comfortable and enjoyable experience where no question is stupid and they don't feel ashamed to make mistakes.
