Hello! My name is Meghan, I am a Canadian Mathematics and Computer Science Teacher who taught in the UK from 2014 to 2019. I have nine years of classroom teaching and private tutoring experience. I am passionate about both mathematics and education. Outside of classes my hobbies include swimming, camping, kayaking, baking, coding, and making my own SFX makeup.
I have my Bachelor of Mathematics (Honours) with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and my Bachelor of Education with a focus on students with special educational needs from Queen's University. I hold teaching certifications in Ontario and British Columbia.
I have taught Math and Computer Science in secondary schools in England and Canada, and have tutored students from kindergarten to university level. I spent my last year in UK as the Head of the Mathematics Department at a school for students with Developmental Language Disorder.
Mathematics is a universal language that allows us to better understand and explore our natural world. This language is sophisticated and takes time, patience, and practice to master.
My extensive mathematical knowledge along with my accomplished background in education will allow me to take multiple approaches to explain any concept, and students will always leave a session with take-home resources to further their practice independently.
