Hi I'm Megan, I am a student at the university of surrey in my final year studying aerospace engineering. I am also a student ambassador for the uni so I am trained in safeguarding and have an up to date DBS check. My specialities lie in Maths and Science (particularly Physics) as these subjects are my passion and what I personally enjoyed the most in school.
Throughout secondary school I was a peer tutor, so tutored both my classmates and younger students in primarily maths. I continued this into sixth form to both help out my classmates and also teach myself the content for my physics A-level through COVID lockdowns. Despite being at uni I also regularly tutor my younger sister (who is currently in year 11) in maths so am fairly up to date with the current GCSE content.
Usually I discuss with the student what topics they would like to work on as well as find out what learning style works best for them and try to tailor the lessons as much as possible. I am super friendly and encourage questions from the students as much as possible to ensure they understand my explanations. If they don't understand I am a firm believer that you're not bad at a subject, you just haven't been told the content in a way that works for you so I always have a alternate way to explain the content ready. I make sure the methods I teach align with the mark schemes to avoid losing working marks and will do content reviews to make sure everything stays on track as well as create revision timetables to prepare for exam season.
