Hey, I'm Meg! I'm passionate about helping students grow in confidence and independence, and I'm currently looking to gain more tutoring experience as I consider a future in teaching.
I graduated with a First-Class Honours BEng in Mechanical Engineering and went on to achieve a Distinction in my MSc in Bioengineering. Throughout both degrees, I used maths extensively - from core problem-solving to applied technical work.
My tutoring experience began shortly after completing my undergraduate degree, when I worked with GCSE-level maths students. I also led my university's sports club, where I regularly ran warm-ups and occasional training sessions, always aiming to create a positive and supportive environment. I later built on this foundation during my time as a Graduate Teaching Assistant while pursuing a PhD, where I supported Master's students in technical software labs.
My teaching style is encouraging and student-led. I believe that helping students take ownership of their learning builds lasting confidence. I often use a Socratic approach - asking guided questions to help students explain and develop their understanding. However, I understand this does not work all of the time and I always adapt my method to suite each student's individual needs.
Above all, I care deeply about student progress and always put their learning first. I'd love to support you or your child in gaining confidence in maths and achieving long-term success!
