Hi, I’m May and I run ‘The Knowledge Nook’!

After living and working near South-East London, I made the exciting move to East Kent in 2023. With over six years of experience as a qualified teacher and tutor, and a degree specialising in Mathematics Education, I’m thrilled to announce that I’m restarting my tutoring business!

My passion lies in supporting young learners outside of the traditional classroom through personalised and focused tutoring. With years of experience as a Year 5/6 primary school teacher, and over six years of tutoring experience, I provide customised resources and assessments designed to meet each child’s unique needs. My goal is to create a nurturing and engaging environment where every child can thrive.

What sets The Knowledge Nook apart from other tutors is my commitment to creating a safe and welcoming space where every child feels comfortable to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow. Understanding the importance of building strong relationships with my learners, I offer a half-price home visit to get to know you and your child before starting group sessions. My top priority is ensuring that every child feels comfortable and supported in their learning environment.

I offer both 1:1 and small, personalised group sessions. In our small group sessions (with a maximum of four children per group), I create an engaging and supportive environment where your child can thrive. By keeping group sizes small, every child receives individual attention and support, maintaining the same level of care and personalisation as in 1:1 sessions. Whether in a group or one-to-one, your child’s unique needs and goals are always at the heart of the learning experience, ensuring no compromises on the quality or focus of their tuition.

For families seeking a bespoke approach, I offer 1:1 tutoring. These personalised sessions allow me to focus entirely on your child’s individual needs, helping them overcome specific challenges and achieve their academic goals at a pace that suits them. My approach builds confidence, improves subject knowledge, and fosters a genuine love for learning. Tailored resources and assessments ensure your child feels confident and inspired to tackle challenges.

For those interested in booking into group sessions, I believe its essential for you and your child to get to know me before they start, which is why I offer a half-price home visit before introducing your child to a small group.
