Matthew tried his hardest to engage our 17yo. We really appreciate all you have done and hopefully some of what was taught / discussed / worked on will have gone into their brain ready for the exams !
Our difficulty is motivation and unless the student is listening and engaged it is very difficult for the tutor. We really appreciate Matthew's patience and understanding over the last couple of months.

We are delighted with the support Matthew has offered our sons; as an A level physics tutor and GCSE maths tutor. He has been working with our family for six months, and Seb is feeling increasing confident with Year 13 physics material which was causing him some difficulties in Year 12. Created good rapport with Evan and he felt very comfortable working with you from day one. This was very important for him.
Helped as required rather than taking the lead which supported development of Evans confidence which is of course 50% of the battle!
A little more rigour around dates and times would have been appreciated, especially in the dates approaching the exams as this was a variable we did not need,
Appreciated the flexibility to travel to as for the most part which must have been tough.
In summary, thanks, expertise around physics is without question - but key point was that you created a safe and comfortable partnership with Evan for him to engage and learn.

My son has only had one tutoring session with Matthew, but they seemed to 'click' immediately, and Ollie feels Matthew will be of enormous help over the coming months. Matthew was very approachable, friendly, informative, and explained things in a way that made it clear to Ollie. So far, so good !

Matthew is a very good tutor and was a great help to my daughter. He is efficient and sensitive to the needs of those who find Maths difficult. Meeting at his home meant that my daughter was put at her ease and that the session was more productive as a result. He was occasionally a little unsure about how to match the precise specifics of the syllabus to particular techniques but overall I am delighted that he was able to help.

Yes that topic was a trifle unusual in how it was presented in the question. I have since devised an explanation using just GCSE knowledge - a useful experience for me.

We have seen Matthew once as a maths tutor for our son who is doing his AS, and we hope to plan some further sessions with him before the end of the holidays.

Matthew seems to be very clear and concise - our son was happy to be given reasons why - so the session made more sense to him. He also said he liked the way that Matthew was able to link the topics, which I think indicates that Matthew has more than just a basic knowledge of his subject.

We liked Matthew and would recommend him to anyone who wanted a solid tutor in Maths.
