My son has only had a few sessions so far with Matt, however he has really helped him to begin to build his understanding and gain confidence, particularly in creative writing. Matt is very patient and encouraging. It is a great benefit that Matt is also a GCSE examiner, it’s really helping my son understand how best to answer questions for maximum marks.
My son is enjoying his lessons and I would certainly recommend Matt.

Matt started tutoring my son (year 11) a few weeks ago. My son fell really behind in English during the first lockdown and has never enjoyed the subject or reading. Thankfully Matt has been brilliant and has found away to successfully engage and encourage my son who actually enjoys his lessons and says Matt has made the subject really interesting. Matt has been both reliable and flexible where possible and I couldn’t be happier or recommend him more highly.

Matt is head of English at a top girls' school and has an impressive CV. He taught my daughter GCSE English literature and language and Latin.

In 4 months he took her from a 6 in latin to a solid 9. And a 6/7 in English to an 8/9.

I was very impressed that he quickly found out her ability and any gaps in her learning and planned the time carefully to work efficiently to target raising her exam performance in the time available.

My daughter loved working with Matt and enjoyed her lessons. The sessions were very enjoyable for her. She could see the progress she was making and her confidence grew too.

Matt is also a lovely person, he is focussed and really cares about getting the best result for your child. He also really knows his stuff and is worth every penny.

Matt is an excellent English tutor who worked with our some age 13 for common entrance exams. His grade improved significantly over the short period of time we worked with Matt and more importantly our sons confidence improved significantly. Matt also made the lessons fun and interesting so a win-win all around!

Matt has been teaching both my children English at GCSE and A level leading up to their exams this summer. He is friendly, approachable and has struck up a great rapport with both of them and they have enjoyed their tutoring sessions with him. He has also been able to fit in extra sessions at short notice and is very prompt to reply to any requests. I would thoroughly recommend him!

I cannot recommend Matthew highly enough! He is an excellent tutor as well as an experienced, qualified teacher of English and is friendly, polite and courteous. Matthew has been helping my son to gain confidence in English and also prepare for the new 9-1 GCSE exams. If you need a tutor then look no further.

Matt is providing tutoring for my 15 year old daughter in English Language & Literature for her GCSE. He makes all the sessions interesting and enjoyable and my daughter really looks forward to them. Her confidence and capability has increased and she is optimistic about getting a very good grade in the summer as a result of Matt's help.

I had Matts help for my sons latin common entrance exam. Matt helped him Immensely and got him from an E to a B. Ben had a great time with Matt and will definitely have him back again! He is a great tutor!

Matthew is a very knowledgeable and responsible young man. He is very patient with my son and has a very good understanding of GCSE marking requirements and is definitely worth the price.

I have contacted you and agreed to start the class on 22nd 5:30pm. But you didn't show at that time and after that I cannot contact you anymore, you didn't answer the phone, didnot reply the sms even I tried many time. So totally I have no idea what happened.

My son has been enjoying his sessions with Matthew and I feel reassured that the desired results will follow.

Matthew, is not able to carry on due to some family problem.

We employed Matthew to assist our daughter in studying for her A2 English Literature exam which she has just taken. The sessions proved extremely helpful both in terms of structuring her revision time and also thinking more widely about the subject texts (which Matthew knew well). We were able to arrange mutually convenient times that worked for us both. Overall a very positive experience.

Matthew really helped Issy to understand how to structure her essays and generally gave her more confidence to take her English Literature AS level.

Matthew did 2 x 4hr sessions with my son in the Easter holidays and worked really hard to try to keep him focussed and find ways to get him to engage (despite my son't best efforts not to comply). Upshot - he made it to the 7C grade that we were aiming for - up 2 sub-levels in 7 weeks. Matthew's tips and pointers really helped (as well as the threat of further tuition!). Enthusiastic and very helpful with three out of my four A levels, would be stuck without him!

Matthew has a very good command on English language and is very learned in terms of his subject knowledge. He is also very friendly and easy to approach which is important for a tutee. We were fully satisfied with the lessons my son took with him.

Unfortunately Matt was unable to provide tutoring due to a change in work circumstances.

I paid to get his contact number and contaced with him and we arrange the date to tutor my daughter he didnt turn up that day we rang him he said he is not tutoring my daughter because he was in hospital we didnt believe at him at all. Even he was in hospital he could gave us a ring and explain that us He is not reliable. Can you refund my £14 please which i paid to get his contact number .

We only had Matt for 2 sessions. It proved difficult to find mutually convenient times . Also he was not familiar with my daughter's course material which at A2 level was a disadvantage. However his communication was good as we tried to sort dates and times out, when he did come he was punctual and he was very polite and had a pleasant manner.

After just a few sessions Matt has helped me to build confidence that I will be able to achieve a high grade in my English AS retake.

I used Matthew for help for a University level English Grammar re-take. He was very helpful and articulate, explaining things well. I am in no doubt that his help resulted in me passing the exam which I had previously struggled greatly with. A very good tutor.
