I am a native Italian speaker who has been living in the UK for the past 9 years. I have a PhD in Classics from the University of Edinburgh which I earned in 2022. I have taught classes in subjects ranging from Italian language, Classical Civilisation, Greek and Roman Art and Archaeology and Roman history.

I am an enthusiastic and empathetic teacher who has a lot of experience teaching students from a diverse range of backgrounds. Always been interested in the study of Antiquity and Italian and the response students have when I teach.

Tutoring Experience

I have acquired nearly a decade of tutoring experience in the field of Ancient History, Classics, and Italian. Most recently I taught a number of courses at the University of Edinburgh where the majority of my students were pre-honours undergraduate students.

Before this I taught students at archaeological sites in Italy where I looked to engage them with the materiality of Antiquity. In Edinburgh, I continued with this approach by taking students to the National Museum of Scotland. Finally, I took part in outreach teaching whereby I visited George Heriot's School, in Edinburgh. During these sessions I engaged with students both at primary and secondary school level by introducing them to the field of Ancient History and Classical Archaeology.

Tutoring Approach

I am a supportive and encouraging tutor who looks to put all my students at ease since it is my belief that a comfortable and confident student is more likely to fall in love with the subject, just as I have. My teaching largely emphasises a one-to-one approach which enables me to tailor my classes to the precise needs of my students. As a consequence I am able to design my sessions well in advance. My enthusiasm and my experience means that I am comfortable dealing with students from a range of backgrounds. Therefore, I can teach students with little to no knowledge of the subject, as well as, students who already have a good grasp of the topic.
