Online Maths Lessons

Hello there! My name is Mark and I'm currently studying Physics at Bath. I am taking a year out to study and get some work experience in between my 2nd and 3rd year at the moment and would be happy to tutor Math at either the GSCE or A level. I am happy to provide multiple sessions per week if that's what you're after, but of course I am open to just one session a week if that's what you'd prefer.

Tutoring Experience

I've tutored for a total of well over 100 hours so far across close to a dozen students for over 4 years, I've also worked as a teaching assistant at a school, so I have plenty of experience in explaining in a clear and convincing way.

Tutoring Approach

I will often start by gaining an understanding of the position you / the student is currently in, usually be starting at the very basics of a topic and quickly working our way up until we reach a point that you don't fully understand. I strongly believe that the best way of learning is simply to do practice questions, so after explaining the concept and giving plenty of examples problems, I will giving my own problems for you to do. I usually aim to move quite quickly through sessions if possible to cover a lot of ground, but of course, given the situation, I will slow down and stay on a single concept for an entire session if necessary. I also strongly believe that understanding how the Math works on a deeper level is the key to remembering how to answer the question, rather than mindlessly attempting to remember via repetitive recall, and thus a lot of the time will be spent gaining intuition surrounding the topic and perhaps how it may link to other parts of your knowledge that you are already familiar with.
