Hi. I'm Mark, and I was a primary school teacher for 15 years. My roles included class teaching, mainstream SEN teaching, the full range of year groups and attainment needs, as well as middle management in curriculum and teaching areas and regional leadership in a specific Christian curriculum plan, curriculum design and development and regional leadership in a Christian-based curriculum - so rest assured I am experienced and able enough to help you and your child/children. My reviews show you that I am professional, positive, supportive and encouraging, that I work quickly to build productive relationships and that great progress is made and sustained. I have also expanded to tutoring by recommendation, so not all experience shows here. Feel free to get in touch to discuss how we can plan tutoring to work best for you.
Additional Information - I offer a range of tutoring services - for: catch up work; to fill gaps; for some non-specialist SEN issues; to complement school work; to turn around the fortunes of those who are disengaged or lacking confidence for whatever reason; where any issues have a negative impact on school attainment for whatever reason and tutoring to extend or enhance school work. Please note - I do not offer tutoring for adults, foreign tuition, specialist SEN or special language courses for non-English speakers, more specialist courses such as 11+ exams or specific school Entrance Exams, I'm sorry.
I graduated from Liverpool Hope with a Bachelor of Education degree in History and Primary Teaching. I successfully taught across all KS2 year groups, attainment and mainstream special needs areas and KS2 intervention groups. I successfully held management posts in English and Maths leadership (KS1 and KS2), various curriculum design, implementation, leadership and development projects (Creative Curriculum 2009+, National Curriculum 2014+, KS1 and KS2), and Catch-up Intervention teaching for KS2 (2015+). I was instrumental in establishing, developing and maintaining long-term links between our school and an International School in Barcelona. I also developed and promoted the 2014+ Christian-themed curriculum 'What If..?' in school and across the North-West of England.
I have been tutoring since 2019 after leaving teaching to pursue this, and I have grown quickly to develop many leads by recommendation in addition to online work.
I tailor the tutoring to the needs of the student. I try to make lessons fun, relaxed and informal, but I am aware they need to be productive. Reviews from other tutoring show me to be professional, supportive, engaging and encouraging.
