I was lucky enough to be successful with my university applications to study Law at Oxford, UCL, KCL, LSE and Manchester and am currently studying Jurisprudence at Keble College, University of Oxford. As someone who just finished her Y13 A level exams, I know how hard it is to understand content and structures for answering exam questions. I regularly achieve 90% on all of my exams and essays, and have been doing so all year. My interest is particularly humanities (I have studied History, Politics, Religious Studies at A level, in which I am predicted A*A*A*). As for university applications, I can help with the LNAT admissions test (I achieved a score of 33 this year when the average was 23) as well as personal statements and interviews.
I also received an A* in EPQ, and 39/40 (A*) on my OCR history coursework- so I am happy to help out with such assignments. The subject of my EPQ was on imperialism and whether it still impacts post-colonial societies.
My teaching experience is mostly in the school which I have studied at- I have helped my peers regularly with understanding concepts in my subjects and even hosted revision sessions where I went through areas of the specification and how to formulate arguments. My teachers have encouraged me to teach my class in lesson as well- for example, in History I presented a presentation on three countries which we had never studied in depth to the entire class.
My approach is first, ensuring understanding of the concept or pattern at hand, then teaching content and examples, necessary for a high grade answer in essay subjects at A level and then applying this knowledge to help formulate a logical line of argument in a coherent essay format. What is most important to academic success is a schedule and spaced repetition and this is what I encourage my students to do.
