I am currently a university student at King's College University, studying Pharmacy. I took Biology, Chemistry and English Literature at A Levels. I enjoy teaching very much and believe I am able to adapt my teaching abilities to students from different ages, as well as different learning styles. I like learning, as well as teaching, but also like things such as F1, travelling, playing chess, and hockey. I am very bubbly and always love a good chat.
I have been tutoring for 4 years privately, teaching Biology, Chemistry Physics, Maths, English Literature and English Language up to GCSE level. I have been a babysitter for a year, whereby I would assist the child to read books with me and count numbers. I am able to adapt to different students at different ages, as well as help in a range of subjects.
I believe in making sessions as interactive as possible. First lessons should always include a mini introduction, understanding the level at which the student is at, how they study, and what they believe they need help in. This should then be followed up with some light teaching, gaging an idea of how well they understand content.
My sessions usually begin with a quick recap over homework, or over any questions that a student may have from their self-teaching. This is then followed up by usual tutoring in a topic that we have pre-planned to go over. For the final bit of the session, I like to go over questions based on what we learnt to put into practice the content learnt.
I believe that communication is key and ensuring that sessions are as interactive as possible is vital. I do this by making notes as we go along to direct the learning specific to each student. At the end of each session, homework is set depending on what they found difficult or may need to recap over. I am always very open to allowing students have input on how they wish the course of their tutoring session to go.
