Im Maria, I have great experience working as a tutor previously and currently. I am a masters student going into my fourth year studying Biochemistry at the University of Bristol! I really enjoy helping other people learn and hope to improve student's confidence during their studies as well as teach in an engaging way.
Since I am still a student I find that I can engage with students in a more relatable way and introduce them to things that helped me
achieve my good grades.
I have tutored many different ages groups previously, both online and in person, throughout University. I have helped students achieve the grades they deserve, including a student going from a grade 3 to a grade 5 in a GCSE maths resit exam in just 2 months and another student achieving a grade 7 in their Biology mock exam from having a grade 3 at the beginning of the year.
I aim to deliver well-organised lessons and ensure extra resources are provided at the end. I ask the students the area they want to focus on or follow what they are focusing on in the school curriculum. At the beginning of the lesson, I usually go through any questions the student has from work I set the previous week or school homework. Moving on to the main part of the lesson I thoroughly go through the chosen topic and ensure I give questions or past papers at the end as well as homework.
After 5 sessions I give the student questions on what we have been focusing on for the past 5 sessions for testing and consolidation which I believe is essential.
