Hello, my name is Marc and I am currently a Biology teacher at a private school in Loughborough. I am available for tutoring most evenings over the summer holidays. Please get in touch to find my availability.

I hold an M.Sc. in Immunology from the University of Oxford and have a PGCE in secondary science education from Roehampton University.

Biology is my passion and I have had plenty of experience in teaching it both in the state sector and private sector, having taught in a prestigious boarding school for 4 years.

I also offer one-to-one academic essay / dissertation tutoring which includes proofreading. In these sessions, we can analyse the structure and content of your work prior to submission so that your ideas and research are presented in the best possible way.

I also offer Oxbridge interview practice for Biology and Medicine.

Tutoring Experience

I currently have over 9 years' experience tutoring and teaching biology at A level here in the UK. I have taught in both the state and private sector from KS3 to KS5.

I have also previously tutored with a London-based Oxbridge tutoring agency, at a tutoring company in Southall and more recently with two national tutoring agencies.

I have a good familiarity with and have taught exam boards AQA and Edexcel at GCSE, iGCSE, AS and A2 level. I can therefore easily provide resources for them.

I also have experience in tutoring English essay composition, and have taught Immunology, Developmental Biology, Cellular Biology & Gross Anatomy to degree level whilst doing my undergraduate degree in Bangkok and my postgraduate degree at Oxford.

Tutoring Approach

I offer tutoring online via Microsoft Teams, and have hundreds of hours of experience teaching in this manner whilst ensuring pupil progress. I am also able to travel and teach in person.

I like to make learning as much fun as possible. Engaging with the tutee is my main aim. I am a firm believer in visual aids and analogies and try to incorporate that into my lessons. I take pride in my quizzes which check to make sure the tutee is on the right track. Past paper questions are a definite must when it comes to improving exam technique so I tend to structure my lessons around them.

I aim to provide bespoke lessons and will cater to each student specifically, as each individual's needs are different.
