I am an experienced and passionate tutor with a classics degree from Oxford University where I studied both Latin and Greek. Since then, I have had experience working with children and families, and have studied the psychology of mental health at the University of Edinburgh.
I have experience tutoring primary age children, including children with specific learning difficulties. I also have worked with secondary age children with mental health difficulties. I have experience supporting families through the SEND process and working with neurodevelopmental disorders.
My background in psychology informs my tutoring, and I have a keen interest in developmental theories of learning. Due to this interest, I believe in collaborating open-mindedly and creatively with students on a personalised plan to support their academic goals. My experience and training in mental health and social care, combined with my own personal experience of managing academic demands with a neurodevelopmental disorder and specific learning difficulties, means that I have an empathetic, open-minded, and student-centred approach to learning.
