My name is Lydia and I have been teaching and tutoring for 8 years, working in a variety of setting but primarily with year 6 students. I am a dynamic and supportive teacher, with high standards and a child-centred approach, aiming to make every lesson as fun and engaging as possible, without compromising on learning.
Since gaining qualified teacher status from Cambridge University, I have worked in a variety of settings including mainstream, SEND, and an international school in Spain. With six years of experience in Year 6, I have supported children through SATs and 11+ exams, with social & emotional development as well as with the general curriculum, and I have seen some excellent results.
Knowing the curriculum inside out allows me to tailor my approach and methods in an effective and sensitive way to make it as accessible and enjoyable for the child as possible, and ensure we see the best possible outcomes. I love to teach through games and interactive, explaining concepts in a variety of dynamic and hands-on ways to help the child best understand.
