Here’s a refined and polished version of your profile:
I am an applied mathematician and mathematical physicist with over a decade of experience in both academia and industry. My career has spanned esteemed institutions, including the University of Oxford, University of Durham as well as developing new programmes at both the University of Leicester and the University of East Anglia, where I held academic positions, lectured and conducted research. I have also had the privilege of supervising thesis students at these universities. Beyond academia, I have applied my expertise as a consultant mathematician in industry.
In recognition of my contributions, I was honored as a University Fellow at the University of Leicester. Additionally, I serve as the elected Chair of the Mathematical & Theoretical Physics Committee at the Institute of Physics (IOP) and as an elected member of the Environmental Physics Committee.
With nearly a decade of private tutoring experience, I have worked with students of all ages and abilities, helping them excel in Mathematics and Physics.
I currently teach university-level Mathematics, A-Level Mathematics, and Physics, and I have extensive experience preparing students for the STEP (Cambridge entrance exams). Beyond subject tutoring, I also provide dissertation support, guiding students through complex mathematical and scientific research.
As a university lecturer, I have successfully supervised five Master's students through their theses, three of whom achieved distinction. My most recent university students have excelled, with distinctions and scores as high as 90% in their exams.
I believe true learning comes from understanding, not rote memorization. Many students tell me they struggle with math and physics because of a "bad memory," but the beauty of these subjects is that memory isn't the key—understanding is. Once you grasp the concepts, you can work everything out logically.
My approach focuses on building this deep understanding, helping students not only master the material but also develop strong problem-solving skills and confidence.
For the best learning experience, I offer 1.5-hour sessions to ensure ample time for both concept mastery and practice.
Please note: Fees are quoted per hour. For a full session, multiply the hourly rate by 1.5. Block booking discounts may be available.
