Hi there, I'm Luke! After qualifying as a solicitor, I transitioned into education and have been working as an online Maths and English tutor for the past few years. I currently teach GCSE Maths and English at a local college, combining my expertise with a passion for helping students succeed.
My lessons go beyond simply solving English and maths problems—I incorporate real-world examples to make learning meaningful and relevant. My goal is to equip students with the skills they need, not just for exams, but for life beyond the classroom.
I am incredibly friendly, supportive, and energetic in my lessons, always providing positive encouragement. I help students recognize their progress, build confidence, and take pride in their achievements.
Outside of teaching, I'm an avid football fan and a proud Manchester City supporter. I also love playing video games, spending time with my cat, and making the most of my free time with my partner and friends.
I have extensive experience preparing students for 11+ exams, SATs, and GCSEs, helping them achieve academic success regardless of their starting ability. I work with students across the spectrum, from those with special educational needs to those with a natural aptitude for maths and English, and I firmly believe that no two students learn the same way. That’s why I tailor my lessons to each student’s unique needs, ensuring a personalised and adaptable approach to learning.
Currently, I am studying for my PGCE, which involves teaching GCSE Maths and English to 16–18-year-old students at a local college. In addition, I have years of experience in online education, having taught students aged 8 to 18 in both one-to-one and group settings.
Parents and students often praise my patient and understanding approach. I adopt a more conversational style, scaffolding learning and guiding students to the answer through subtle questioning rather than simply giving it to them.
This not only gives students a greater sense of pride and ownership over their learning, but it also develops their critical thinking skills—an essential and highly transferable skill for their future.
Whether you find maths challenging, excel at it, or fall somewhere in between, my lessons are designed to support and push you to the next level.
Book a session now and let’s smash maths and English together!
