I have held qualified teacher status since 2011 where I specialised in teaching Psychology. This came about after over ten years of working in Psychology related disciplines in mental health and the criminal justice system, so I bring a wealth of real life examples into my teaching which enrich the learning of my students.
I have taught in the state sector where I quickly became head of Psychology and am now Head of Department in a successful independent school, with a track record of excellent A level results in this discipline.
I currently teach and tutor AQA examination board but welcome students from other examination boards.
I strongly believe that the best way to maximise student success starts with the foundation of a good teacher-student relationship. I encourage students to question, critique and stretch themselves and so provide them with a safe, friendly and approachable environment in which they can flourish. I tailor all sessions according to individual needs but fundamental to each session will be delivery of content, practice examination questions and application of knowledge in order to ensure thorough knowledge and understanding to help students access the top mark bands. I do not deliver lectures, each student will be expected to actively participate in their learning and engage in reflective practice with my guidance.
. I believe Psychology can be and should be engaging and enjoyable as it equips you with transferable skills for the rest of your life.
I very much look forward to working with you and seeing you progress.
