Qualified musician and tutor with years of experience both in the UK and internationally. I have been classically trained in Harp, Piano and Voice, and have been performing and teaching music in the South West of England for the last 7 years. I also teach Music Theory and can provide support towards A levels and GCSEs.
I have been teaching mostly to primary and secondary school students, however I also have experience teaching adult learners both one-to-one and in a group. My subjects include Piano, Voice, Harp, Ukulele, Music Theory, Sight Reading, and Aural Techniques. I also take small groups of singers for chamber ensemble which involves learning 3 or 4 part harmonies.
My teaching revolves around the pupil and how they react to the different materials I present to them. Not all students learn and remember things in the same way, and my main aim is to make sure lessons are both informative and engaging. I strongly believe that if a student enjoys their lesson they will make more progress and it is part of my job to motivate and enthuse them. The use of books and anthologies, workbooks, CDs, notation exercises, and duets can also be beneficial and I use them whenever appropriate.
