I am a 36 years old Analyst, using maths and logical reasoning in my day to day work. I have a BSc in Astrophysics from the University of Leicester and an MSc in Plasma Physics from Queen's University Belfast. I have been an analyst for over 12 years and have supported new and aspiring analysts in learning SQL, practical statistics and python.

I enjoy helping others achieve their goals and I love to show people that maths doesn't have to be difficult. I believe that anyone should have access to support in their learning, no matter where they come from or who they are.

Tutoring Experience

I have run music groups including teaching children to play their instruments, supported a local Brownie group, entertaining and educating children aged 7-10 and supported several GCSE and A-level students through this website while I was at University.

I have since expanded my tuition to include adults, supporting colleagues and aspiring analysts to learn SQL, practical statistics, R and python as well as the mathematics functions in excel. I have also supported a colleague in getting her level 2 in maths, which she had failed during her time in compulsory education, to enable her to access the degree level qualifications for her career.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring will vary based on the student. Some people need a tutor to help them understand what their teacher has told them, others need help identifying blind spots in the subject matter and working through them, and some need help undoing years of fear and negativity around a topic to help them access the information that will help them succeed. I truly believe that a student should be heard with a kind and patient ear and met with practical and non-judgemental instruction and advice.
