I have been teaching for 20 years across Key Stage 1 and 2, specialising in Upper Key Stage 2 and SATS. I have been a private tutor for 18 years, delivering Maths and English. I am also able to teach Year 7 or 8 Maths and Foundation Paper GCSE. I have availability on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

Tutoring Experience

I am a qualified teacher with over 15 years tutoring experience and have taught in 4 schools over the course of my career. I specialise in years 5 and 6, particularly SATs, but I can support pupils in Years 1 to 5 as well.

Tutoring Approach

This very much depends on the child; I keep tasks fun to ensure the children stay motivated and we set targets that are reviewed regularly. Children have the opportunity to discuss concepts during private tuition; these opportunities are not always available in a whole class situation. This boosts their confidence, leading to improved results. I plan lessons meticulously based on assessments and set homework if required by the parent.
