I am a highly experienced secondary French and Spanish teacher, with a wealth of teaching and leadership experience and have spent a period of residence abroad in France and Spain, and travelled extensively.
Having been a class teacher, as well as head of department, for secondary and sixth form, I am experienced in supporting students in preparation towards GCSE or A-level exams or supporting younger students earlier in their language learning journey with additional support, grammar, punctuation, vocab. Or perhaps, you are an adult learner, seeking to develop a new language skills.
I have availability to assist both individuals and small groups either face-to-face or online.
I am skilled in quickly tailoring teaching and learning to suit each individual's specific needs, curriculum needs and importantly, making language learning fun and engaging and bringing a cultural element into language learning.
I can tailor lessons to suit your or your child’s learning style, providing the necessary scaffolding to support your child and provide stretch/extension tasks enabling your child to make good progress in their language learning.

- Speaking and punctuation practice and support towards GCSE/A-Level speaking exams.

- Align teaching with your child's interests and also linking to cultural learning.
I have over 10 years of teaching experience within the secondary school, covering GCSE and A-Level language learning.
I have also held various leadership positions including KS3 coordinator and Head of Department.
I have experience in tutoring both children of various ages, including primary age, where I have delivered after school language classes to primary school, KS3 support, GCSE support and speaking practice, A-Level, and also tutoring adults.
I am passionate about providing children and adults with a fun and engaging learning experience, tailoring classes to suit individual learner needs.
My approach to tutoring is centred around each individual child. I will expertly tailor lessons to suit your child’s individual needs. I am adept at quickly understanding and gauging children’s needs, levels and learning styles, to enable me to tailor and plan lessons focussed around their needs and interests.
My lessons help to build confidence through language learning learning, and also to develop independent learning skills, becoming independent thinkers and building resilience.
I ensure that students understand the learning objectives and discuss these with the children and revise the objectives to assess progress is lessons. I constantly provide informal assessment opportunities within my lessons to assess progress and identify any areas where the child may need additional support or focus.
Importantly I have a sense of fun and bringing fun and engagement to language learning is paramount to my lessons.
