Look forward to higher grades in Mathematics! I am a fully qualified and highly experienced and very professional teacher who is passionate about mathematics and passionate about teaching. I am up to date with the current GCSE and A level curricula from AQA and Edexcel. I have also worked in the IT sector in past years as a computer programmer, and therefore have experience of what is required in industry. I have an interest in applications and uses of mathematics in general. I enjoy my job and have had a lot of successes with my students. I find it very satisfying when my students come to understand work they previously thought was very difficult. and it is a pleasure to see them succeed.
Tutoring Experience
I have over 7 years secondary school classroom experience and over 8 years tutoring experience. I have successfully tutored pupils from year 5 (primary) up to A-level. Whatever the level of mathematics, I deliver thorough and in depth lessons tailored to the students needs.
Tutoring Approach
Maths is a subject in which it is easy to lose confidence. Equally it is very easy to restore confidence with individual tuition. Work can be covered at a pace which is suitable for and guided by the student's needs. I have the ability to break topics down to clear misconceptions and rebuild knowledge so that uncertainty is removed and confidence is gained. I am calm, patient, kind, conscientious and approachable. Maths is and should be fun for everyone! I convey my enjoyment and enthusiasm to my pupils so that they gain confidence, higher grades, and happiness in the subject too. I work either online or face to face. I have been teaching some students online for over 2 years, enabling students from all around the world to take lessons without leaving home. I use Skype for voice, and an online whiteboard which students can log into, which makes the experience as good as sitting next to one other.
