Linzi's Feedback

I cannot recommend Linzi highly enough. Our son suffered a serious head injury just after Christmas in year 12. He missed several months of school following this and it took several more for him to fully recover. In the midst of this the first Covid lockdown occurred. By late spring of Y12 it was apparent that he needed substantial help to have any hope of passing his Maths A-level, let alone doing well. It was at this point we engaged Linzi.

Linzi worked tirelessly with our son over the next year, first working with him to consolidate foundations (which were shaky even before his accident), then to catch up what he had missed and then to practise and revise for the A-level exams. She paced his learning so that he was able to develop solid foundations in, respect for and enjoyment of mathematics. The more he worked with her, the more he enjoyed and took pleasure in doing maths -- he really enjoyed working with Linzi, whose deep knowledge and calm perseverance were just what he needed. In the run up to the final exams, she was responding to questions from him at all hours and over the weekend, supplying him extra papers and questions whenever he asked -- she really went beyond what could reasonably be expected from a tutor to try to help him.

At this point we don't know how he has done in the exams, but from our perspective this is not the most important thing. The most important thing is that Linzi has helped him to learn how to learn and has left him with a positive and abiding interest in mathematics. Thank you Linzi!

Linzi was brilliant at providing me with initial information regarding structure of how to tackle my course. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go ahead with lessons simply because the evening timings that I wanted were not appropriate. However I would not hesitate to recommend her to others.

Thanks for all your efforts in tutoring both Eleanor and Alex. You gave Eleanor the confidence she lacked in Maths, and this enabled her to achieve a fantastic A grade in her A level. You have also helped Alex to stretch himself in both his Maths and Further Maths A levels and no doubt will continue to do so in his final year to his exams next summer - and in STEP/MAT exams, if he decides to apply for Maths at University.

Linzi is an excellent tutor and I highly recommend her. She is professional, calm and very knowledgeable and has provided really good advice and support for my son in his run up to GCSE maths. I am certain in the short time he has had with Linzi that his grade will improve, he is motivated and learning a lot in his weaker areas. I wish I had started earlier with her tutoring!

With regard to feedback the only reason that we have opted to change tutors is the "connection" that Ellie needs to establish with her tutor. Unfortunately, she didn't feel that connection with yourself which in no way reflects on you; it is simply an issue of Ellie feeling comfortable.

Linzi is proving to be a great support to my daughter with her maths. The progress to date is wonderful.

Linzi was very approachable and managed to help our daughter who was having some last minute troubles before GCSE mocks. This enabled her to go into the exams confident with what she knew and able to achieve her full potential. We found Linzi very helpful and our daughter took to her right away and found her able to explain things simply and get her back on track.
