Lindsey

Hello my name is Lindsey and I love learning and speaking languages. I graduated from the University of Manchester with a BA French and Linguistics, the science of languages and in depth study of language and culture. I also speak Spanish. I have been tutoring for a few years now teaching pre school children right up to preparing for GCSE exams.

Pupils find me friendly with a good sense of humour which can be necessary when children and adults who are nervous about making mistakes in a foreign language.

Tutoring Experience

I worked in France as an English language assistant for the British Council. Later, I gained my Secondary PGCE MFL at the University of Chester and worked at Schools around the North West.

I have also worked for KipMcgrath as a private Literacy and Numeracy tutor.

More recently I have been tutoring children of nursery up to GCSE age privately, children from state and private schools and really enjoy this work.It is great to teach one to one and pupils and adults, results have improved greatly.

Tutoring Approach

Firstly I usually discuss the needs of the child with the parent and child and tailor their tuition to these needs. Also to let the child know we can build on the knowledge they already have.

Also its important to find out what style of learning the child enjoys to incorporate this also. We use curriculum textbooks, my own personalised worksheets and games.

As have a teaching qualification for GCSE languages i can help with any aspect/skill in the chosen language.
