My name is Lindsaye. I live in Hereford with my husband and two teenage children. I adore maths and it is my aim to bring a sense of fun and enthusiasm to the subject in order that every child can achieve. Therefore, sometimes sessions will be loud and practical: we will compete at games and laugh so that your child builds their confidence without even realising that they are learning. Once they have this confidence, you will be amazed at how quickly they can develop new skills.
I qualified as a teacher back in 1992 and have worked at a variety of schools across different age ranges since then. However, a few years ago, I grew disillusioned with whole class teaching, as in many cases it is no longer able to support the individual in the ways that they need. I realised I could feel far more fulfilled and provide a far better service by working one to one.
My work with your child will start from where they are, from their needs - emotionally and educationally, providing practical activities and games, as well as more formal written activities supporting their school work including exam papers for KS2 SATs and GCSE Foundation and Higher Levels. I am happy to liaise with schools or other agencies, to support homework and to generally provide whatever is required to help your child reach their potential. This is a vocation for me, I am not doing this as a second job. I firmly believe in what I am doing and dedicate myself to each child's progress.
