Hello, I'm Linda and I am a Spanish specialist who has worked with several Spanish companies as well as having sound experience in teaching at grammar, private and the state school sectors. I have also taught French to GCSE level and I spent a year in living in France. I have a good track record in inspiring pupils and giving them confidence with their speaking and writing skills. I am keen to teach pupils the strategies needed to develop their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills especially under examination conditions. I is always am very approachable and welcoming which I find reassuring for pupils/adults wanting to improve their language skills as I know what a daunting experience this can be.
I have over 15 years experience teaching in the Secondary sector in a range of schools, I am currently teaching in a boy’s grammar school, though I have experience with girl’s grammar schools as well. I have tutored pupils in the private sector and their grades have improved as a direct result of the teaching and learning strategies that I have developed and used. I enjoy teaching and seeing pupils progress and develop quickly when shown a few tested strategies. I am familiar with then new guidelines for GCSEs and A levels and have continued with my professional development. I have always had positive remarks and feedback from OFSTED when inspected in the classroom. I have tutored adults successfully and help them to develop their speaking skills for business or simply to enjoy covering when they are abroad. The grades in my current schools have increased significantly since I have been teaching pupils with a number achieving their target grades and above including 9s at GCSE (Spanish) and As at A levels.
Not all pupils gain confidence in the classroom and a 1:1 support can be really beneficial to give that extra focus and confidence, which pupils often lack in languages. I love teaching pupils and seeing them improve. I genuinely believe that all children to want to learn and be the best they can be but often lack confidence and a positive belief in themselves. I find this particularly true of language learning pupils.
