Hello! I am a graduate of the National University of Ireland with a degree in French, Spanish and Human Rights, and I also hold a Master’s in International Relations from Goldsmiths, University of London. Most recently, I taught English for three years at Nantes Université in France, working with students across a wide range of departments and helping them build confidence in both academic and conversational English. I have also completed a PGCE at University College London, which gave me formal training in pedagogy, lesson planning, and student support.
I am an experienced tutor and an effective communicator. Besides London I have lived in Ireland (where I am from), France, and Spain, and have taught and tutored languages in each of these countries. I am passionate about education and language learning, and with all my students I focus not only on preparing them for exams, but also on sharing knowledge of culture and demonstrating the real-life benefits of acquiring foreign languages.
I have a passion for education and am always on the lookout for opportunities to help others learn and grow. With my background in languages, I bring significant experience as both a student and a teacher, giving me an important perspective that helps me adapt my approach to the needs of different learners.
I make sure to tailor my teaching methods to suit a variety of learning styles, and I aim to keep my lessons not only educational and effective, but also engaging and fun. Beyond the subject itself, I also help my students with study skills, so they can revise what we do in class efficiently and independently.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, exercising, and exploring the outdoors.
I have more than 10 years of tutoring and teaching experience. Most recently, I spent three years teaching English at Nantes Université in France, where I worked with undergraduate and postgraduate students from a wide range of academic backgrounds. I have also completed a PGCE at University College London, which gave me formal training in lesson planning, pedagogy, and student support. Over the years I have taught one-to-one French and Spanish classes with Irish and British children, and I have conducted individual English lessons with Spanish, French, and Japanese students of all ages. In addition, I have organised group art lessons for teenagers with learning disabilities. I greatly enjoy meeting people from different walks of life and supporting them in reaching their goals.
As I believe extra lessons are much more productive when they are enjoyable, I try to ensure the student has a good time during lessons. I do this through use of games, fun thought experiments and interesting questions, all designed around a specific theme for that weeks lesson.
