I am a native French speaker living in the UK for the last 8 years. In the past 4 years, I have been giving private French tuitions in London to a wide range of students, from children and professionals to university students and retired individuals.
I have a BA (Hons) in Modern Languages from the university of Bordeaux Montaigne and the University of Leeds and an MA in Middle Eastern Studies from SOAS. I am passionate about languages and I have a fondness of working with children and adults, and have developed a very personalised approach to individual learners.
EXPERIENCE
My teaching experience is based around helping university students improve their spoken and written French, as well as GCSE and A-level students exam preparation. Through a series of structured lessons, I have helped undergraduate and postgraduate students gain skills in the French language relevant to their areas of study, and managed to effectively prepare secondary school students gain confidence in the key skills required for the national exam.
I have also worked in a classroom setting in Morocco in 2014, where I have taught French to both children and adults with the aim of improving their grammar, vocabulary, spelling and sentence structures, speaking and listening skills, as well as to generally develop their confidence with the language.
Furthermore, I have conducted private tuitions in France and England since 2011 for Erasmus and foreign exchange students and as a result, have developed a number of resources and strategies for the effective teaching of French to students from a wide range of backgrounds and with differing skills in the subject.
I have extensive experience in English to French translation, French editing and copywriting, attributes that I have combined to successfully tutor pupils studying French at all levels in the UK school curriculum.
I am passionate about teaching and have a fondness of working with children and adults. I believe in personalised, tailored lessons with a positive, non-judgemental attitude. I am particularly interested in developing communication skills in order for the student to deal with real-life situations as soon as possible. With experience of teaching for different needs and levels, I also know how to incorporate key grammar knowledge in the learning process in a fun, non -daunting way, as well as to adapt my teaching methods to tackle specific areas of difficulties.
The lessons are based on the Common European Framework of reference for languages (A1-A2-B1-B2-C1-C2), and follow a structured teaching method ensuring a effective, gradual and comprehensive way of learning the language.
