I am qualified to doctorate level with my PhD subject being in science; I am also qualified as a secondary school science teacher. As a private Tutor, I have a 100% pass rate with my previous students and most have exceeded their target grades; many achieving grade A's. I aim for my students to achieve and exceed their expectations, by providing an excellent tutoring service and importantly to boost their self confidence.
I am a mother of 3 children, so I am experienced and familiar with the modern school framework, from KS1 to KS4 together with my in teacher training for QTS. I am also human and enjoy fun times with my family, being outdoors especially when the sun shines and nature.
Note: I prefer to tutor from my home as stated on my profile, however I will consider travelling out. If you did want travel to you, there will be additional fuel costs, which must be agreed on before tutoring commences.

Over 12 years experience as a professional tutor, which includes:

A-level chemistry includes the AQA, Edexcel and OCR exam boards
BSc undergraduate chemistry specific support
With 20 years of teaching experience as a University Associate Lecturer, I have taught at undergraduate (BSc) and currently teach postgraduate (MSc) level in a range of science subjects, laboratory and essential learning skills.
I ensure my students know that they are having Removed ‘tutor session’ with an approachable Tutor, rather than a ‘lesson’ in a classroom with a ‘busy’ teacher. Hence, allowing the student to work at their pace and to ask as many questions as they wish to verify any misunderstandings. This allows the student to be learning at ease without any pressure. I also try to make my sessions fun and will make sure all students feel as comfortable as possible by treating them as equals.
As part of my tuition fee, I provide personally hand-written (100% original) revision sheets with exam style questions, specific to the examination board taken and adapted to the individual’s needs. Previous students have found these to be invaluable in their revision.
I offer an open minded approach to teaching to aid understanding of the subject. I am very flexible, offering the use of drawings and other media, avoiding the use of just text books, to enhance learning.
I adopt a personal policy to provide an excellent tutoring service for my students so they achieve their best results which has a knock on effect which is an achievement for me.
