I am 28, live with my boyfriend in Pimlico and have always had a love of language. I come from a large family from the south of England where I went to school and discovered my love of English! I went on to complete an MA(Hons) degree at the University of Edinburgh where I was lucky enough to study everything from Shakespeare to Rossetti and delve into the works of Edwardian authors and explore the cultural impacts of the dwindling British Empire for my dissertation.
I freelanced as an English tutor for Edinburgh based families with children aged 9-18 while I was studying for my undergraduate degree.
I au-paired for two french families in Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, for 6 months at a time over the course of a year and taught the children (aged 3-15 yrs) English on a daily basis as well as helped with homework.
I understand that each individual's learning journey is different and formed by a unique set of experiences which help to shape how they learn. I take great care and patience in helping the child find meaning and understanding in their own approach to learning so that we may be a more effective team. For me, learning has always been a very personal journey; at times difficult but others deeply rewarding and fun. I would like to help others find joy in learning and help strengthen aspects of their curriculum which they find challenging.
