My name is Laetitia and I am a lecturer in Physics . My experience includes several years of successful tutoring to students of various age and background.

Tutoring Experience

I'm working as a lecturer at Northeastern University London. My actual position includes delivering lectures, tutorials and laboratory sessions to international undergraduate students. I was previously a Research Fellow at the University of Surrey where my work consisted to a blend of experimental research work in nuclear astrophysics and tutoring for undergraduate students in astrophysics, mathematics, thermodynamics and atomic physics. During my master studies in France I worked as a private tutor for kids and teenagers from 6 to 18 years old, supporting the young one to find back confidence to their abilities and the older ones to prepare admission to top level engineering schools. I was also employed by my hometown university to support students with special needs to compose their exams.

My education includes two years of exchange program at the Queen’s university of Belfast and at Tulane university in New Orleans and a PhD in physics at the university of Jyväskylä in Finland. I also worked as a trainee at the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) in USA. I have teaching experience in both English and French.

Tutoring Approach

It always surprise me how a student with initially what seems to be insurmountable issue can overcome its difficulty and develop its potential in few weeks of private class. School is unfortunately not tailored to every students and once the track of the course is lost, it can become very stressful to deal with school deadlines and exams.
My approach to education is to consider each student as an individual and to give them the tools and skills that will enable them to tackle concepts in physics and to become outstanding scientists. I consider communication skills as tremendously important when working with kids and students and I'm trained in Non Violent Communication (NVC). I can provide a DBS on demand.
