OVER 8000 HOURS COMPLETED I have been tutoring full-time for over 6 years and had hundreds of students (many of whom were long-term) from all levels of high school and university, and have mainly helped with Maths, Physics and Chemistry. I initially began tutoring as a job to make it through university, but I quickly developed a love for helping people, and now it is my full-time profession.

Tutoring Experience

I attended UWA (University of Western Australia) for a BSc majoring in physics, and lived in Wales for 2 years while tutoring online and in person. This degree involves completing high level mathematics units as well, so I am more than competent to tutor in these subjects. I have also been on an exchange to the UK (Cardiff University) where I completed 2nd year modules on Electromagnetism, Quantum Mechanics, Astrophysics and Linear Algebra, with 3 Firsts and a 2-1 - please request to see proof!

Tutoring Approach

My approach is to always ask questions and make sure the student understands exactly what they need to. If I ever feel that one particular approach is not working well for a student, I will change my strategy and work backwards until I find the root cause of the misunderstanding, then rebuild their understanding from there. The best description of my style would be didactic tutoring, however when I need to extend the student I will follow up with a non-didactic approach.

Tutoring is not just a job to me, but also something that I immensely enjoy and get a lot of satisfaction from. If I felt that I wasn't helping a student enough, I would feel the need to redouble my efforts and go the extra mile until they were significantly more confident in their subject.
