Hello!
My name is Kirsty, I’m 26 and I’m originally from Leeds in Yorkshire. I completed a BA in Modern Languages (Spanish, Portuguese and Italian) in Sheffield before moving to London to pursue a career in Musical Theatre where I trained for my Masters at Mountview. I do still love languages and connecting with fellow learners and native speakers and tutoring allows me to do just that.
I am a bubbly, approachable and reliable person with a love of languages, all things theatre and baking! I hope to get to know you all soon!

Tutoring Experience

I have taught English as a Foreign Language in Spain (Murcia) in a Language Academy (Londons Time Idiomas) - this involves teaching pupils from ages 4-50. I also taught online during the pandemic through a online language teaching company called iTutorGroup.

I have successfully ran after school clubs and A Level top up classes for students studying Spanish.

Tutoring Approach

I know learning a language can be a very vulnerable thing so I like to ensure all my classes are laidback, fun sessions where students are able to thrive and not be afraid of making mistakes.
I mainly use a TEFL approach to teaching English and some of this does cross over into my Spanish teaching. Depending on the age range I like to incorporate games, music and multi-media learning to facilitate all learning types. It’s important to me that I spend a lot of time in the first session assessing the students level, setting realistic goals and then tailoring a learning plan based on each individuals needs.
