Hello :)
I believe science should be fun for everyone. Science and Maths gives us ways to question and explore our world, and I like to help students feel like they are the ones making the breakthroughs in their learning.
I personally enjoy learning about the human body, which led me to studying my degree in Biomedical Science. But in my 10 years experience delivering science workshops and after-school clubs, I’ve covered a wide range of science and maths topics, and made them engaging through fun and hands-on activities.
I’ve worked with a small educational charity for the past 10 years, working with thousands of young people, delivering STEM workshops with school groups and facilitating community after-school clubs and events. My role was to create, deliver and develop innovative, creative, and engaging STEM activities, particularly aimed at supporting more hands-on and enquiry-based learning in schools.
I’ve previously tutored children and young people in Mathematics and Science at KS2, KS3, GCSE and A level, privately and in community after-school clubs. I’ve worked with students from diverse backgrounds and students with English as a second language.
I have a patient, friendly and positive approach when working with young people, and I’m proactive in finding opportunities to link learning to the real world.
I’m committed to supporting and facilitating young people’s learning in a way that best suits them. I encourage students to have a growth mindset - everyone’ abilities can be developed through learning from our mistakes, embracing challenges and developing our knowledge through practice.
