I am a published author and have been teaching English at Secondary School and Sixth Form/College level for 3 years. In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing, visiting museums, galleries, and theaters. I also like travelling and visiting castles.
Secondary School English teaching is a field that I have cultivated over the past few years, honing my practise and really investing and immersing myself in every role I have taken on since I qualified in 2017.
Having taught a number of different schools in West Yorkshire and now London - I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in understanding what really helps students learn. I have become a gregarious teacher that can adapt my experience to suit every student and can verify my qualifications upon request fairly quickly.
Having studied English at an Undergraduate level in York, I then went on to complete my PGCE at the prestigious University of Leeds. Since then I have taught at many schools where I have created schemes of work, personally coached Year 11 GCSE pupils, been responsible for the teaching, marking and feedback and overall learning of a range of students between ages 11-19 all at a KS3, KS4 or KS5 level.
I am currently a Secondary School English Teacher teaching all pupils aged between 11-19.
For me the student always comes first. I prioritise the needs of my pupils and these must always take precedence over what is convenient for me. My style varies depending on the pupil and I differentiate accordingly. I always instill challenge within my approach to ensure a student is pushed to the best of their ability.
