I am a passionate linguist with a keen interest in how second languages are learned, with my MSc Learning and Teaching focusing on the process of how students learn to listen in a second language. This informs my teaching, and supports student progress and confidence in a second language.

Tutoring Experience

I have extensive experience teaching A Level and GCSE Spanish, and am Head of Languages at one of the top-performing state schools in England. Our outcomes have consistently outperformed the national picture at both GCSE and A Level, where we have used intelligent intervention to support student progress. Over my time in the post, we have sent at least one student to study Spanish at Oxbridge every year.

Tutoring Approach

I aim to use the highest leverage intervention to support student progress, with a focus on giving them chances to succeed and experience the feeling of accomplishment. My goal is for students to feel that they are good at languages, and for that feeling to translate to results.
