Hi, I'm Kavita and I am studying for an MSCi degree in Psychology at the University of Nottingham! My passion for Psychology has always existed from a young age and even led to me getting an interview at the University of Cambridge!

Alongside psychology, my knowledge extends into a range of different subjects , such as Sociology and English and Business Studies. I have also got a large amount of experience under my belt with regards to exams, essays, revision and the UCAS process, so feel free to ask me about anything! My strengths lie profoundly in helping students improve their grades through in-depth lessons covering content paired with exam practice, and I most commonly teach Psychology, Sociology and Business given my 3 A*s in them.

I like to view myself as a very friendly and comforting person. I always aim to make my students feel as welcomed and comfortable as possible through the use of a personalised learning approach. With over 900 hours of teaching, i am certain i will be able to help you achieve the best of your ability :)

Tutoring Experience

My journey into tutoring began during my GCSE and A-level years when I first realised my passion for helping others understand and excel in their studies. As I entered university, I took my tutoring skills to a different level, offering independent sessions where I accumulated over 70 hours teaching subjects such as Psychology, Business, Sociology, and English literature.

Recognising my dedication and effectiveness, I gained the attention of MyTutor, a company that allowed me to extend my impact to school students in need of academic support. With MyTutor, I've had the privilege of helping more than 35 students achieve significant grade improvements, totalling more than 800 hours of teaching. I personalise each lesson plan to suit the specific needs and learning styles of every student. I also carefully design targeted lessons, set tailored homework assignments, and establish a strong rapport to foster trust and engagement.

Beyond formal tutoring platforms, I also dedicate time to tutoring the children of my neighbours and the younger siblings of family and friends, further nurturing a passion for education and empowerment through personalized learning experiences. Each tutoring session reinforces my commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of students by providing them with the tools and confidence they need to succeed academically and beyond.

More often, i commonly teach AQA Psychology at GCSE and ALevel , AQA Sociology at GCSE and also AQA and Edexcel Business Studies at GCSE and ALevel. I also support students in other aspects such as their core subjects such as English and Maths

Tutoring Approach

My sessions are flexible and vary for all students. Whilst the main goal of reaching their target grade and beyond remains the same, each student is different and my lessons are always tailored to what each student needs to help them excel. Similarly, progress is measured in many ways from exam questions to knowledge checks at the start of each lesson but ultimately making the student feel comfortable and at ease is the most important priority :)
