Hello, my name is Katie.

I'm a graduate from the University of Oxford (1st class BA Geography) with over 4 years experience working in climate change and international development research. I studied both human and physical geography during my degree, but recently my work has been based more within the human realm. In addition to tutoring, I'm currently working as a consultant on a number of projects funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the UN World Food Programme; this mostly consists of making maps to show where where populations are most vulnerable to climate change across parts of Africa and Asia. Prior to this, I also worked as a management consultant at a strategy consulting firm in London.

I also play the piano and have grade 8 qualifications in flute and music theory. Hence, I am also able to teach music up to GCSE level or prepare you for music theory exams up to grade 5.

Tutoring Experience

I'm here to help you achieve your very best by working on a one-to-one basis on whatever topics or techniques you find challenging. Given the breadth of the subject, I offer tailor made sessions based on your own interests and requirements within key stage 3, GCSE or A level geography.

In addition to subject tuition, I am more than happy to help with the following:
- Looking at academic articles from a variety of themes in preparation for university or university applications
- Oxbridge application advice, including interview preparation
- Discussions about possible careers following a geography degree, including: management consultancy, climate change research, international organisations, NGOs, GIS analysis, applied research and international development.

Tutoring Approach

Please note, I ask that you let me know what you wish to cover at least 48 hours prior to the session; this allows me to prepare and thus ensures you get the most from our time.

I am based in London, but primarily offer tuition online unless otherwise requested.
