I am a former Head of Mathematics and Assistant Headteacher who has recently retired and moved to the seaside! I l loved teaching but want to spend more time with my family and dogs . Tutoring allows me to continue to support students at times that suit me.

Tutoring Experience

I taught Mathematics and took on leadership roles in a large outer London comprehensive. I had been an Assistant Head for the last 5 years before retiring, prior to that I was Head of Mathematics, and before that a Teacher of Mathematics. I have experience teaching all year groups from 7 to 13. My particular strengths are students aiming for 7/8/9;at GCSE, students who struggle with Maths aiming for 4/5 at GCSE and A level Pure Mathematics Edexcel syllabus.

Tutoring Approach

I teach online or locally. I am very flexible and can either work with students on particular topics they find tricky or go through a broad scheme of work which focuses on key areas. With 14 years of recent teaching experience I can quickly identify problem areas, and find different ways of tackling them. I aim to improve students confidence and am very positive and encouraging!
