I am a passionate and experienced primary teacher with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education and over eight years of teaching experience across Key Stage 2. I am currently the Reading Lead at my school where I am able to design the curriculum teach reading through a progressive approach that not only develops essential literacy skills but also fosters a lifelong love of reading, enabling the pupils to become confident and enthusiastic readers. As a Teacher and tutor, my approach is rooted in fostering a love of learning and creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child feels supported and challenged. I bring energy, creativity, and commitment to every session and believe strongly in tailoring teaching to meet the individual needs of each student.
I have over five years of tutoring experience in addition to my classroom teaching. I have taught students from Year 3 to Year 6 and have a thorough understanding of the primary curriculum, including end-of-Key Stage statutory assessments. I have extensive experience of delivering lessons both in person and online using platforms like Microsoft Teams and Google Classroom. I am confident in planning and delivering engaging and effective tuition that helps children make measurable progress. I also bring experience in delivering CPD, creating curriculum plans, and supporting children with SEND and those working at Greater Depth.
I ensure every tutoring session is bespoke and responsive to the child’s needs and learning style. I incorporate educational games and songs to make learning enjoyable, while maintaining a strong focus on academic progress. Using a range of resources, I strive to build children’s confidence and independence through a growth mindset approach. My teaching is adaptive and inclusive, and I use a wide range of strategies to ensure children are both supported and challenged.
