I am a friendly, approachable, person who is enthusiastic about the sciences. I worked for British Telecommunications after college, and only came into teaching after having my own family, having studied for my first degree with the Open University. I later studied for a Master's Degree in Astrophysics at Queen Mary University, London.

I love looking at the world around me and finding out why things happen, and it gives me great pleasure to be able to help to awaken this awareness in others, and to help them to realise their own potential.
I am more than happy to tutor pupils online via platforms such as Skype, Zoom and Bramble, and welcome new enquiries about tuition. I look forward to speaking with you.

Tutoring Experience

My speciality is in physics. I have experience teaching science to GCSE level, physics to A-level, and Maths to GCSE level. I am also qualified to teach GCSE Astronomy. I have worked in a number of schools in Essex and Suffolk, on permanent full-time, and part-time contracts, as well as undertaking supply work. I have tutored pupils at all levels, from Key Stage 2 (Primary) to A-level , and have been an associate examiner for the OCR Exam Board.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching strength lies, particularly, in being able to give unsure pupils confidence in both themselves and their work, thereby improving their grades. Being a highly motivated, friendly person, with excellent organizational and communication skills, I am both adaptable and reliable. I believe in working with a pupil to help them to achieve the skill set they need to become independent learners, as well as improving their work in a particular subject. I find a calm, confidant atmosphere for learning results in the best progress.
