I am have a proven track record in tutoring students to top grades at GCSE/IGCSE . I am also experienced in supporting borderline students to achieve grades 4/5. I offer in person tuition in the Alnwick-Berwick area of Northumberland as well as online tuition. I teach in the English school system and have been an examiner for AQA in both English Language and English Literature. I have been Lead Teacher for A level English Language and my students have achieved excellent results. I work in a student centred way, developing a personalised programme for each of my students with regular feedback to parents. I will identify areas for improvement and work on developing skills, knowledge and exam technique. I have excellent feedback from my students and their parents.

Tutoring Experience

I have examined for two major exam boards at both GCSE and A level. I have taught for over 20 years in secondary schools across Northumberland and have taken leadership roles in English. I am a local authority teacher. I have been an examiner for both English Language and English Literature. I have helped students towards some outstanding results as well as university entry and have recently helped students achieve top grades at A level, GCSE and IGCSE. I have also worked with a number of students who have specific literacy difficulties or who want to improve their confidence. I also enjoy working in less formal environments teaching creative writing. I have worked within the English system.
