I am most inspired by teaching those who want to learn! The step up from GCSE to A level is vast, and so I feel it is important to break the content down into bite-size pieces and then connect the dots to develop your subject knowledge. Teaching is very rewarding when you see a student build confidence in tackling those exam questions and succeeding in taking their next step!
I have over 17 years experience as a qualified teacher, and have spent much of this preparing students for exams, having taught in schools and colleges, and as a private tutor. Like many people, the challenge of the pandemic gave me the opportunity to develop my skills to teach online. I believe that we should always look to be flexible and adapt our methods.
In addition to my BSc(Hons) degree in Genetics and PGCE, I hold additional qualifications and included in those I am also a qualified Counsellor, which supports me pedagogical skills in being able to really listen to the needs of my students and empathise, as well as better support them to manage exam stress.
Sessions are conducted online and planned to suit your needs to ensure you make progress and address the gaps in your learning.
One-to-one sessions are available, and small group at a reduced rate (max. 4 students).
Sessions will be 50-60 minutes with current availability Wednesday daytime. We will look at subject content on a topic of your choice and analyse how to tackle the exam questions to gain the maximum marks.
